EnergyWithin Founder

Bernard J. Putz, Ph.D., MA, MBA, CAPS, has been interested in the psychology of environments since his first published academic paper in 1991 in the Journal of Environment and Behavior looking at the psychological factors in space habitat environments.

Since then he has spent 35 years leading change in some of America’s leading organizations as a consultant and later as an executive creating environments for extraordinary performance. He was also part of the leadership team of a major global consultancy's change and innovation practice. His psychology, organization development, and business background have taught him the importance of looking at environments holistically and how they influence humans.

Bernard recently created the human energy concept, which tries to help us understand life through the lens of seeing human energy as mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual energies that flow from the past to the present and into the future within individuals and between people in families, groups, and organizations - and how environments influence these energies and vice-versa.

His passion for building was first ignited when studying environmental psychology, and he has been building and remodeling as a hobby for the past 25 years.

He developed the concept of ExperienceZones which focuses on the type of experience you want to have in a particular space or environment — bringing together the four energies.

Now, he combines his deep academic and practical experiences to help create spaces and environments that help seniors age well. He has completed Aging in Place, Healthy Aging, Gerontology, Big Data, AI, and FinTech certifications. He also studied at the San Francisco Institute of Architecture.

He aims to transform the aging experience by focusing on human energy within spaces and environments.
